Mass Hysteria, Over Nothing H1N1 (Swine Flu)

I am becoming a little concerned over all of the hoopla about the ‘Swine Flu’ or H1N1 which is nothing more than a slightly more severe case of the flu. Reports are coming in that a million or 1.5 million people came down with the virus over the last year, but only a handful of people died from it, just over 1,000 people.

Compare that to the regular flu which kills 30,000 people or more a year and there is little comparison. What concerns me is the fact that people are so worried about the Swine Flu when there is literally nothing to be scared of. However, they are now rushing a vaccine through to have inoculations by October.

Here is my problem with this vaccine, we did this before and it ended horribly for Americans. We had an outbreak of the Swine Flu in 1976 and the Ford administration rushed a vaccine through and it was administered to some 40 million people. The problem? 25 dead and over 500 cases of Guillian-Barre Syndrome, GBS. The Swine flu killed 1, so the cure was worse than the disease.

History repeats itself and here we are again 30 years later doing the same thing and guess what? The same problem with the vaccine persists, it can cause GBS or death. There has been virtually no testing of this newer version, it just started recently in humans, and the long-term effects are unknown. I am not some nut job, I am to the contrary in fact, as there are grave concerns in the UK over this vaccine.

According to WahlesOnline.co.uk a third of nurses in the UK refuse to take this vaccine mainly because of a letter sent to neurologists warning of GBS. I am not a doctor, but I do know that when doctors and nurses do not want the vaccine it is probably a good idea that I avoid it. Not to mention that the UK has one of the most successful immunization records in the world. The trouble is that we, in the USA, have not heard any of this.

In fact, we are told the opposite about this vaccine and that it is safe and will work, etc. Keep in mind they are saying that the Swine Flu virus could mutate and become deadly, but it defeats the purpose of even getting the vaccine now anyhow because it would not stop a mutated version of the H1N1. Again, I am not the only one thinking this, do a search on it and you will see the usual nut jobs, but also a lot of doctors.

For example, NY health care workers may be forced to take the vaccine, but the union is fighting it because some people hold religious views or personal beliefs against such injections. Again, that leads me to believe that something just isn’t right about this whole thing. I and my kids are also not interested in becoming a guinea pig either and, frankly, the odds of dying from the Swine Flu, .0008%. The odds of a complication from what we know happened from the last time we tried this, over 1%. Being the numbers guy that I am there is 10 times the likelihood of something going wrong with the vaccine versus the actual disease.

I highly suggest you read up on this before jumping on the bandwagon and getting the shot. Oh, I forgot to mention, it has mercury in the shot as well unless you request the mercury-free version, how messed up is that? The videos and links are below for you to research this yourself, but I think I will take my chances without the shot.
